shout out to all the people who identify with gifted kid burnout syndrome who are probably just neurodivergent but werent diagnosed as a child, who used to devour books like it was nothing and never really understood why the protagonist would leave their cool fantasy world behind to go back home at the end of the story, and who are now extremely disappointed in reality and use escapism as their primary coping mechanism. how’s that bisexuality and deep-rooted anger at the school system going for you?
From the research I’ve been doing on United States electoral politics, I’ve come to the conclusion any white person who claims to vote Republican because they’re “pro-life” is full of shit and they’re actually just racist. This isn’t to say that the GOP isn’t also insanely misogynistic but I’m referring here to the people who claim to be one-issue voters on abortion, that they’d vote for Democrats if Democrats weren’t radical baby killers, but are blatantly lying through their teeth.
My basis for this hypothesis is that older Black people are often socially conservative and diligently attend church every single Sunday, rain or shine, and yet, upwards of 90% of them vote Democrat every single election. They are religious and patriotic, devoted family men and women, veterans and pastors included, and yet, they still overwhelmingly vote for the party of gay rights and women’s liberation, even if they might sometimes disagree with specific policies and rhetoric.
Like, Democrats are called socialists for wanting to provide government assistance to the marginalized but the thing is, Republicans are okay with that, but only if the beneficiaries are white. As I’ve said before, the reason we can’t have sweeping government aid, right up to universal healthcare, is because white people don’t want Black people to benefit from those programs. The New Deal only passed thanks to concessions to Southern Dixiecrats so that Black people couldn’t benefit to the extent that white people did! And, if it helps, Jacobin/New Repunlic leftists claim the New Deal wasn’t intrinsically racist at all and they’re almost always wrong.
That is why I say if someone is maintaining that they can’t vote Democrat because Democrats are baby-murdering reprobates, that means they won’t vote for a Democrat even if they’re anti-choice simply because they don’t want to be associated with the Black people, namely the Black women who are the unequivocal backbone of the Democratic Party, and they definitely don’t want those Black people to get a leg up so maybe, just maybe, they can attain equality to the white people around them.
